AN ORIGIN STORY
Plastic Arcade stared back in 2015 with an idea and a 3D printer, with one goal in mind… Learn 3D printing and have fun doing it!
Through this simply plan Plastic Arcade was born.
I had many great ideas through this journey, although I truly did not know where all this would end up going. I was just an artist, self taught engineer and a guy who loved nerdy things. I quickly realized what I had here, the capability to dream up anything, design it and make it a reality. The possibilities were endless and my imagination worked overtime learning new skills and rekindling old ones. Now as this journey continues into its next steps I look forward to what’s to come.

A Journey So Far…
My love for movies started at a young age when I first saw Return of the Jedi for the first time, at 9 years old I wanted to make movies, dream up creatures and be a part of something amazing and imaginative.
I took up photography at 16 when I was given my first camera by my mom for my birthday an old Nikon 6006 film camera, I had little point shoots and polaroid cameras before the Nikon but I felt like I had hit the big time having my own SLR camera. I connoted to pursue photography in collage as well as graphics design. Then later going into a series of career experiences in graphic design, web & multimedia development, photography & advertising I learned many skills that I am using today.

Lighs, Camera, Action Figures!
My love for toys and collecting started when I was a kid, I collected a lot of GiJoes and ninja turtles, as well as Star Wars action figures. I even found some vintage original Star Wars figures from yard sales and I was in heaven.
I think photographing toys was always something I just always did. I still have stacks of photos sitting around in a box of my GiJoes and Legos. Somewhere along the way I lost interest in taking pictures of toys and kind of forgot about it for a long time. Until that is a grew up into a big kid that I rediscovered the passion for toys and photography together. It wasn’t till the last few years that I started taking pictures again of my action figures back in 2022 it became more regularly and with much greater skill level than those cheesy photos I took as a kid, not to say they were all bad.
Collecting toys also comes with taking pictures of them, I am excited to take photos of a new toy when I get one and it brings me more satisfaction I think than just opening the package and sitting it on a shelf. Though opening a new toy is exciting and brings me back to those days as a kid playing with my action figures in the back yard making a mess in the mud having my many adventures. I also have larger allowance now than I did as a kid, so I find collecting figures to be a fun and enjoyable hobby even more so because there are so many more toys that I could have only dreamed of having as kid.

Make Your World!
It has been a journey getting here so far, Photography, collecting toys, model making, is just the beginning of my story.
Which brings me to the next step in my journey… telling my own stories, something I have wanted to do my whole life, bring my dreams to reality and part of that will be making my own toys. I will continue to collect my favorite comic book and movie characters, but dreaming up my own characters and worlds is just the start of my next big adventure.
Plastic Arcade Joins Creative Journey Life to start the next step in its journey and I hope you come along with me.
My first figure I built, designed & 3D printed, WB42 this takes me back to the beginning when I just started learning.
